Spring 2019

So happy Spring is here!  

My beautiful spot in the midst of these 

months of construction!

Tom came for a visit the beginning of March!

We thought we'd have nothing for him to do...

but 😉

 He got here just in time to tear out the wall and do the drywall!

So thankful to have him here!!!

With all the changes we decided we needed a 

different couch and said goodbye to the sectional

we had over 10 years!

 Lights are installed and stone work begins!

Another needed break having Adah and 

Emily spend the night!  Such a treat!
Precious girls who are growing up fast!

 Beka arrived on April 1st to spend 5 weeks 

with us while Wicked was in town!

James is moving to LA in June so I flew to 

Dallas to drive 2 days with him!

So we had a FULL house the month of April!

 My countertop arrived!  A beautiful walnut live edge
made by the amazing guys at Old Sol Lumber!
They do beautiful work...

 Our first dinner all together at the bar!
It's wonderful to have an open floor plan.

 Next is to mount a floating shelf for my eagle
above the fireplace!

 All this is going on with James', Beka's, and Root's help!

 We added an outdoor propane fire pit, too!  RELAX time!

And of course ... with Wicked in town 

we HAD to go!

 The 3 oldest grandkids got to come for the first time!

Excitement was high!

 We walked through the ASU campus
where all their parents graduated from!

 Met Beka for dinner before the show!

Special to be there with my 4 kids and

 We finished our project the next week!

 So on the Monday after Easter ... Beka's only day off -

Everyone came over for dinner!!

 Of course I had to see Wicked with my buddies, too!

 Tom and I have met up over the past 5 years to see Beka!
So fun!  Toronto, Dayton, San Francisco,
Cleveland, Nashville and Tempe!

 A fun night watching the Nelson gang!

 Beka treated me to a mani/pedi for an early Mother's Day!

Special to have these two together all month!

 These 4 went to the tippy top of Superstition Mountain!

I'm a very blessed mama! 

It's been a great few months but I'm

looking forward to a quieter summer...

Winter 2019

I'm very overdue in getting to this!

It's been just crazy busy around here.

Hopefully it's calming down some

so I can stay on top of 'normal' things more!

We had some great times watching our 8 grandkids!

Just one family at a time :)

 We had an early Christmas with each family ...

... and ended 2018 with a trip to LA for Christmas!

Beka was there with Wicked at the Pantages

 and James was visiting, too!

We spent New Years Eve at the park with
the whole gang!

We froze but stayed until we got rained out...

 ... and ended up at Peter Piper Pizza!

The kids had a blast ... so did we!

2019 started with a decision to NOT move ...

so we got busy re-modeling our house!

OURSELVES!!!

 We sanded and re-finished our 31 yr old kitchen cupboards!

 I decided I wanted a hammered copper cornice ... so I made it!

We also re-did the 'study', changed the bookcase wall and desk
... now it's the memory room with things

from both our parents and two sisters who've passed on...

 finally re-finished and hung Annette's heart!

Since we were so busy last year,
we missed having 'spend the nights' with the grands
... so we played catch up!

 We had a great time with big 6 yr old Caden!

 And had 2 - 4 year olds... Amos and Letty
over together! They're buddies!

Next project... remove the old flouresent lights 

and replace them with pretty ones that are dimmable!

 Then re-locating the fridge and getting ready to tear down the wall!!!

 In the midst of this ... our dear friend Gayle and Elsa visited 

 while going to Spring training games!

It was a busy winter but I love making progress...
 and taking time to relax on my patio with my birds!
