Fall Travels 2017

My Lyme symptoms were going away, but not
soon enough to go on a long planned September girls' trip
to Colorado with these dear friends from high school!
They all went - I could not :(
My beautiful friends on Lake Dillon ... without me!

I was well enough to go on my next journey - kinda!
Tom flew here to help me drive Beka's car to her in Cincinnati.
So thankful he was with me to drive most of the way!
We took off on Oct 5th for our 3 day journey to Nashville!
We traveled Route 40 the whole way
... taking a few Route 66 detours!
We spent a few days in Nashville.  Me mostly resting and
Tom working on the property!  This is the amphitheater
that Tom is clearing on the property!
While we were in Nashville,
Beka was performing as Glinda in Cincinnati!
Brother Steve and Christine were able to go to a show!

I drove Beka's car up to her in Cinci on the 11th!
I stayed with her and Root a couple nights
and Steve for a couple nights!
Great to have family ... everywhere!
Root spent time with me at Steve's
while Beka was busy performing!
Out to a great Breakfast in Cinci with Christine's brother's girls!
We got to see 3 nephews play football!  They're fantastic!
Next stop for Beka was Grand Rapids, MI!
We drove up together on Oct 15th!
We had fun getting her settled in and being together!

On the 16th sister Lisa drove up to pick me up!
She and Paul just moved to Kalamazoo, MI
a couple weeks before ... this is their temporary home!
So crazy she was just an hour away!
We then drove back to Grand Rapids on the 18th to play the
Wicked Lottery for the matinee!  We also bought tickets for
the evening show and booked Beka's hotel at the 'Wicked"
rate for the night!   We won the afternoon lottery and met
these great new friends ... Mike and Pam!
We ended up playing the evening lottery again with them and
going to dinner together!!
I spent the rest of the week with Lisa and Paul ...
Abby came up to hang out, too!  Such fun!

On the 24th Mom and her friend Jeannie drove up to Lisa's!
We drove to Grand Rapids together, checked into our hotel
... the room next to Beka!
Great times with 4 ladies sharing a room!
Beka captured this great shot before the show!
We got to see her as Glinda!!
Gramma was so happy!
A couple of Beka's intagram posts:)
Mom and Beka enjoyed each other - though
both crashed by midnight :)

I drove Mom and Jeannie to Fremont on the 25th!
I stayed at mom's for over 2 weeks ... doing a few chores,
relaxing, and visiting friends and family!
My 86 year old mom mowing her half acre!
Had a great time with Mom and Aunt Janie ... sweet sisters!

On the 10th we drove to a family gathering at Steve's in Cinci!
Very special for mom to be with all her kids!
There were 16 of us together from many states!
Lots of good food and outside fun!
Aunt Christine and Emily enjoying the lovable chickens!
The sibs and Sam and Brit went out
to the neighborhood hang out!
What great fun memories we made!

Tom and I drove to Cleveland on the 12th
to see Beka as Glinda!
Tom missed seeing her in Cinci and Grand Rapids.
We met a couple of Tom's Fremont friends there, too!
We joined Beka and the Wicked cast after the show
for her birthday celebration!  My baby is 25!!
I was so happy to have a birthday lunch with my
special girl on her birthday before I left to fly home!
 I LOVE MY GIRL!

So I was gone from home for 39 days!
Moved luggage 14 different times!
I'm HOME from Nov 13th - Dec 14th!

Tim and I LEAVE on the 14th for a month or two trip
to possibly 12 different stops to see family!
Updates in February!!!
WE MAY BE CRAZY!!!

Summer 2017

Sweet memories, big changes and trials!

My morning patio friend!
I love puppy Root!
Beka was at home through July and we enjoyed fun times
with her and her sweet puppy!
We celebrated Tim's 65th birthday all together at
Fountain Hills park!  Such fun but never got
everyone together in one spot for a picture!
Beka's instagram of a special time!
All 8 grandkids together on a couch :)
Ages...8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 0
Just a couple months each year is this spacing possible!
Beka with the gang before she left!
Beka left to join the Wicked Tour on July 30th!
Miracles do happen!!
After a 15 month break to rest and be restored,
she got a call to take over her old track in the show!
Timing could not have been more perfect!
We're all so happy, but sad to see her go :(
She's traveling with her "Root"!!
James came home over Labor Day!
We love seeing our boy!

My trial of the summer...
After returning from Nashville in June,
I had an intense spreading itching rash!
I treated it as poison ivy, but after it wouldn't go away
I decided to go to a Naturopathic doctor...
first appointment on July 24th.
She treated me for a fungal infection,
but tested me for Lyme!
I got a positive diagnosis on August 3rd.
This began an intense struggle...
many vitamins, antibiotics, & multiple forms of treatment,
including acupuncture and Far Infrared Sauna!
These are pics of my first acupuncture
and 5 treatments later! Definite improvement!
The battle in ongoing and just ready for it to be done!
I'm now know pretty much about the disease and
feel extremely blessed that we caught mine early
and my symptoms aren't worse!
Note:  protect yourself from ticks!! :)

More Summer pics

I'm planning to leave on a big 6 week trip in 2 weeks!
Next update will be about it, if I'm well enough to go :)

Nashville and LA, June 2017

In the beginning of June...Lisa, Tom and I
went to help Sam and Brittney pack up to move to Texas.
There was lots to do ... from trimming trees,
sorting through Annette's clothes, etc. and just cleaning things out.
It was great being able to help Sam sort and decide what to save.
Plus we had a great time together and had
a chance to meet up with dear people! Very special time!
Breakfast on the deck before our work day began!
Sorting all of Annette's clothes, etc.  We decided we were the
ugly step-sisters who didn't fit the glass slipper :)
A great meal after a long hot day!
We found a great charity to donate the 20+ bags of clothes and shoes...
there are many women the Nashville who will be very blessed!
Getting ready for a great evening with Jim and Amy, Val
and cousin Jeanine and Brett with sweet baby Lucy!
The whole gang!
Our mornings... on the deck in PJ's!
We're not all on our phones just ignoring each other...
We're air-dropping pics!
One last night at Jim and Annette's cabin... now sold!
Tom singing "Real Life"  written by Jim.
Loading the trailer...
Looking at some of Annette's hearts together...
Talking about what's next for them :)
Sending off Sam, Brittney, Dali and Jet!  Love them all!
On their way...
Tom and I finished the amazing job Sam and Brit started
... getting all the hearts boxed, covered and elevated for storage.
Tom spent time in the woods...
clearing many paths and this amphitheater!
We found where 2 streams met to form a V!
Tom started clearing to uncover a hidden...
Heart!
This is to top of it...the point is behind us.
There is an amazing gouge on the left with big gnarly roots running through it.
Perfect!!  An imperfect heart - so symbolic!
The House!!  All cleaned up as we drive away!
HEARTLAND!!!
We talked, prayed and dreamed so much these two weeks!
Excited to see what God has planned!
Check out Annette's Hearts ...
This is what will be consuming me in the future.
Will keep you posted!

I got home on June 13th.
Tim and I then drove to LA on the 15th to visit James!
We had a wonderful Mexican dinner out in West Hollywood...
LA's oldest Mexican Restaurant!
We celebrated James' 27th Birthday... soooo special!
Had wonderful ice-cream and a walk after.
The next day we saw great views from the beautiful Griffith Observatory!
And picnic'd at a winery!  So lovely!
Such a gorgeous day!
We ended up at a Malibu beach! A fun and refreshing day!
The next day we relaxed and poked around Eagle Rock,
where James lives, such a great area of LA!  We enjoyed
coffee in a cute little place then shopped for and planted
some plants for James' apartment!
Then we went to the Hollywood Bowl and saw
the Moody Blues!  Such a great great show!
Before leaving we had a Father's Day breakfast at
Cindy's Eagle Rock!  Such a cute old-fashioned dinner
with delicious food!
