Merry Christmas to our family and friends - from beautiful Arizona!

As we close another year - we are reminded of all our blessings and thankful for each of you!

This web site is Sandy’s lastest project - inspired by Rachel who started one long ago! It’s been fun to organize pictures (many more than anyone needs to look at!) and attempt to keep family and friends “up” on what’s going on with us – as little or as much as you want to know! This is a summary of our year:

The first half of this year was busy getting Grandma Burnham’s house packed up, cleaned out, fixed up, painted, carpeted, etc. We had a great time - as both Tim’s brother Jack and sister Mel came to help … as well as Sandy’s brother Tom! We’d still be working if it was just up to us! We had it on the market by June 23rd - just in time for the housing market crash! We’re hoping it will sell soon! If interested in the details look under Tim’s under the extended family link on the right … There you can see pics of the “Burnham” side of the family and all the info if you want to buy a house! While cleaning out gramma’s house we found many old Burnham family photos …so we actually got them all scanned and uploaded to an on-line photo album! Anyone interested in old pics from the “Burnham” side check out Tim’s Family album link under Old Family Pics …

Sandy was able to get away from the busy-ness to make a trip to Ohio for 6 days over the 4th of July - to celebrate her parents 55th wedding anniversary! All 7 Guyer kids were there, along with some of the rest of the family. What a great time! Check out Sandy’s family link to see more about the get-together, as well as pics of the rest of the “Guyer” clan!

James and Beka are both full-time students at Mesa Community College - quite a change for Mom to not be homeschooling at all! They were busy with continual performances the first 10 months of this year – on top of school! See details under their pages! In October they both actually chose to take a two month break – a nice change of pace as they focused on their school work. James is now in rehearsal for “West Side Story” at ASU…. Beka plans to audition for shows in January – so the break from performances is ending!

Tim’s time of working from home for the past 2 ½ years ended in October - he has to drive to Boeing once again. He misses the short commute across the hall, but is thankful to have a job! Sandy is adjusting to a quiet house – a first in almost 26 years! We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary in September! We're constantly amazed at how faithful God has been to us ... so much to be thankful for - so thankful to get to know Jesus' love for us more and more each day!

We're enjoying having two married daughters and two great son-in-laws! Check out their pages to see more about each couple!

Shows are over!

Well that was a month for the record book!
And I thought I'd be good at keeping up on this "blog" -
it's been almost two months since I've done anything here!
Shows are over but I was thrilled to be able to go to 20 shows
between Sept 5th - Oct 5th ...
a bit time and energy consuming but great fun!
We're all happy to be switching gears! Here's a little re-cap of the month... The AriZoni Awards were in downtown Phoenix on Sept 29th. James was nominated and both James and Beka performed as part of the original Blackbeard cast (Won 9 Zoni Awards!) that sang "When This is Finished" during the ceremony! We dressed up and had a fun night!

James taking his own pic in the dressing room at the Herberger - in one of his Blackbeard costumes. The Blackbeard website is now updated with
pics, video and the entire soundtrack from the show!
I was only able to see 5 of James' 15 performances ...
so hard to miss some but I enjoyed each one I saw!
This is Beka as Little Red in Into the Woods. Click here for more pics from the show! The folks in Fountain Hills were very kind to this old mama. They let me sit and watch if there was an empty seat - free. They were thankful that I drove my baby there for every show! I didn't stay for all 15 - but I did see it 11 times! It was just a delightful production, with many talented actors and singers ... ranging in age from the two young ones: "Jack" 12 and "Little Red" 15 ... to the "Mysterious Man", a 79 year old Pediatrician! I really didn't get tired of it - live theater is always full of surprises! Being a mother is crazy - I'm my kids' biggest fan and love watching them do what they're made to do!
Squeezed into this busy month - Tim and I were able to get away to celebrate our 30th Anniversary! We only had a few free days but had a wonderful time together in Scottsdale - we're still in love! Tim was amazing and planned some pretty special activities, including seeing Nunsense at the Arizona Broadway Dinner Theater. (He knows I love live theater - but this even felt a bit excessive to me in this crazy month of shows!)
On top of all this ... Tim's lovely old truck DIED! This wasn't that big of a deal, since he worked from home - we thought we could take our time and replace it. But the same week his boss informed him that he would be working at Boeing again - after 2 1/2 years of working at home! So we were down to two cars during a month of crazy driving. It's been ALMOST humorous! Tim is now driving our van to work, shopping for a truck, and I'm stuck at home! It has actually been kinda nice - I'm getting caught up on things like this!

Now we're all counting down the days till baby arrives!
Clay and Rachel's little girl is due four weeks from today on November 7th!
I'll be posting about that blessed event - I'm sure.
Check Clay and Ray's website on the right for their latest updates!

The Latest!

We had a "moving in" party last night! Tim and I, James and Beka, Deb and Jonah, and Clay's brother Klint showed up at Clay and Rachel's perfectly packed up apartment and in no time had everything in the moving truck and then unloaded into their new home (these strong guys are amazing)! It is just a great house for them and it's very exciting that they can get settled before baby arrives in November. Check out their link on the right to see more!

School starts up on August 25th for Jonah, James and Beka. Clay is hard at work on the second half of his Master's program in finance at ASU. Both Jonah and Clay are also working full time! We're so proud of all of them for their hard work!
James and Beka are involved in two different shows in opposite valley locations - a first for us, they're usually doing the same show!

James is in the midst of Blackbeard rehearsals in Mesa and has 15 shows in downtown Phoenix, at the Herberger, from Sept. 5 - 27th.
We're so glad he can drive himself where he needs to go!

Beka is in the midst of Into the Woods rehearsals in Fountain Hills and has 15 shows there from Sept. 12 - Oct 5th. She can't drive herself, so Tim and I find creative ways to use 3+ hours during rehearsals five times a week! The hardest part will be having to miss some of their performances ... 8 of their shows are on the same night!
Check out James and Beka's links on the right to find out more!

Tim stays very busy working from home for Boeing, settling his mama's estate (check his family link on the right - the house is on the market!), and keeping our household affairs in order!

Life for me is really changing! For the first time in 25 years I'm not planning school - both kids will drive off daily to the community college! It's a bit overwhelming to think of the many projects I could start in on ... seems like 25 years of catching up to do! The challenge is figuring out what to do first!

It's a bit silly, but putting this "blog" together is a nice diversion. I can keep this little corner of the web all in order - something impossible for me to do with the rest of life! Thinking about all the blessings we have and putting them into words actually helps me when dealing with the frustrating things - and it is seems like there are plenty of those these days!

Just so you know ... we may look all neat and tidy here - but our house is often a mess, we are regularly dealing with the stresses of two teenage "artists" and are constantly reminded of how very different and imperfect we all are - thankful for God's grace!!!

Still the same GREAT PERSON!

Beka has been busy scanning old pictures of Tim's family and
she found the one on the left taken in Florida around 1973 ...
the one on the right was taken in May of 2008!
She created this awesome combo pic and sent it to us all.
Tim has improved his handstand after 35 years -
though the facial expression hasn't changed !!!
(He is much more handsome and has a much nicer haircut!)

Girls' Lunch

My girls took me out to a Mother's Day lunch at Crackers! What a blessing to have three great girls that are so good to their old mama! We had a wonderful lunch then did some shopping together. Who could ask for anything more! We had "Girl's Day" almost every week last year...probably the last year all four of us will be able to get together regularly! We had fun doing "projects" together like learning to knit, making applesauce and rug making. Mostly we enjoyed just being together and talking over coffee or tea! Check out pics of some of our special days! This year Beka will be off to community college every day and we'll have a new little baby in the family! We're excited to see how this next chapter will look!

Blogging or just an online scrapbook?

I uploaded my first picture!!! Our SIX great kids...
This is Sandy's attempt to connect!
After 30 years of marriage and 25 years of raising kids,
I'm finding myself with a bit more time.
I'm going to give it a try ....
try to think in complete sentences ...
try to organize thoughts and pictures ...
and try to give you a chance to catch up on what's been happening with us!
This is a work in progress but it's fun to learn something new!
