Winter 2024

Our winter light show ... every January when

the sun hits a certain spot on my Mosaic vase!

 

Lunch out with the only child that lives in 

Arizona!  Such a delight to be with my

Rachel!

Had the Macs over for dinner  ... so much food

from the holiday's to eat up and just fun to hang out!

 James got a new job so came to visit for a week in

between jobs!  It was a fun time...

Superbowl party at the Macs 

(their garage is their schoolroom/entertainment room),

  hanging at the Arboretum, 

and a great bike ride and dinner out!

 

 

MacInturff piano recital and fun visit with

the McInturff and Brady parents!

Spring is here... rainbows and baby bunnies!!

A 'girls' get-together with Sue before her 

liver transplant that happened on March 26th!!

What a journey it's been for her...this was

the 6th liver that was a possible match - and

it's working great!  She has a long recovery 

but is doing well!

Christmas 2023

What a busy busy Christmas week!!

The Nelson family drove here from San Antonio in 1 day! 

They left their house at 3 am and arrived here at 6 pm

in time for a soup and picky food dinner and a

good night of sleep!

We had a low key Christmas Day...everyone was tired!  

We had our typical danish and am gifts, a relaxing day 

and a simple salmon, potatoes and grilled veggie dinner.

We went to the Macs the day after Christmas for 

a mexican food feast!

Tim and Jonah took the 3 youngest kids to Goldfield Ghost Town,

exploring old western life!

 

Another day the guys and all the kids went on a hike, 

while Deb and put a puzzle together and enjoying quiet.

Tim took the kids to Prospector park...

for active outside fun!

 

 

 We had a feast on New Years Eve... lots of picky foods.  

Just 2 made it till midnight!

We were all exhausted and full so just ate

leftovers on New Years Day.

While they were here we enjoyed a few games and 

had lots of talking...

The Nelson's drove home on the 2nd!

 What a busy year!   

38 days of travel and 52 days of visitors at our house!

Wonder what 2024 will bring??

Fall 2023

We had a beautiful Fall at home in our lovely desert!

With the cooler weather we were able to get the whole

yard trimmed and raked ... in preparation for 

guests and just because it needed to be done and

I love doing it.

Tim has enjoyed some great hikes and bike rides.

I spent time at PT and doing exercises to 

strengthen this hurting body.

We got to see Adah and Emsley test for their

blackbelts in Taekwondo!  So amazing to watch all their skills!  

All 4 kids were ready to test but Caden had two broken hands

from doing a backflip off his swing, so had to postpone

his testing.   Letty is waiting to test in the

summer (she's only 9 - but fierce!)

Letty and Mousy came over to spend the night!  

Letty wanted to be fancy rich people, go to the Mall and

 ride elevators and escalators.  We instead rode the light rail

to the Sky Train and rode many huge escalators and elevators 

at the Airport!  I think she and mousy were tired

by the end of the day... grammy and papa sure were!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with

just half the family here... missed Beka and 

the Nelson's but it was a full house just the same!

We had plenty of great food, took a lovely after

dinner walk and played a fun game of 

Apples to Apples - Wonderful to be together!

The next day we met at the theater (a first!) to

see the new Disney movie that James had been

working on!  We all enjoyed it and James was asked

for his autograph (since he's famous!!)

We had our typical Mexican food night the day after 

Thanksgiving at the Macs and enjoyed sitting around the fire!

My dear roommate from before marriage came to visit, 

December 1-7th!  We haven't seen each other for 

over 30 yrs as she's  been living in Germany.  

We've talked over the phone the last few years 

but it was extra special to re-connect in person!  

45 yrs apart ... I guess we've aged, but 

our connection is stronger!

What seems like it would be an easier Fall was pretty

exhausting for grammy.  I have 2 weeks to rest up and get 

ready before Christmas and the Nelson's coming!!
