Emsley came to spend the night ... so long overdue!
Between ours and these teenager's schedules it's hard
to get dates. But it's so special to be with the kids,
even if they whoop us at Monopoly! Sue was a rock-star getting through her liver transplant!
I got to visit her in the hospital and do her hair and hang out.
Her dear friend Michelle came from Michigan and was
her caretaker for over 6 weeks!
Sue's home now and getting her strength back -
She's a fighter!!!
At the end of April we drove to NYC for the 2nd time this year!
Beka was finishing up her contract and needed a bit of help
getting out of her apartment and into a temporary one,
plus move a few things home (especially some plants)!
We stayed at the same hotel in New Jersey on the River, with
a view of the city. We drove into Manhattan, worked, ate,
enjoyed the city and even drove through Times Square;
getting Beka into her high rise apartment with great views!
Less than a week after we got home, the giant Saguaro
in front of our fence FELL! So sad but thankful we have
a neighbor with equipment to help us move it off
the fence and get it chopped into manageable pieces!
Little by little Tim's getting it into the trash can!
We have a big arm re-planted and plan to plant
3 more little sections, hoping they take root!
On May 20th Beka and Root flew home!
They're settling in and taking some time before moving
on to what's next for them! Just hard to be in
Arizona in the hot summer!!
Her movers got here just after she did! Thankful we have extra
room to store her stuff!
While Beka took short trips to CA to see James,
and to New Orleans to celebrate James' birthday,
Root stayed with us! Such an easy girl!
James stayed for a while before and after their trip.
We enjoyed great times together ... Going out,
playing pool and trying to avoid the heat.
Out to lunch with Rach and Beka and to Painting with a Twist!
This was a first for me - so fun!
We're into the hot summer!
Future week's highs are 102-110! Hibernation time!
